I used to be clueless about Indie music. Probably still am. I’ve always been pretty obsessed with rock: Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, etc. But a couple years ago a friend made me an MP3 CD with a bunch of his favorite albums on it — all Indie stuff — and The Shins’ Oh, Inverted World was among the selections. I fell in love.
This is New Slang, the best track off the album. It’s very haunting and beautiful.
