Thank All That Is Holy

Reg’s Coffee House is poised to survive yet another radio station shake out, and will be broadcasting at his usual time Sunday, but on 100.5 instead of 94.5.

Reg’s Coffee House is the only shining light of goodness on the entire Birmingham radio scene.  I try to listen to 105.5 some because that style of music is in my comfort zone.  But while i really fawned over Pearl Jam’s Yellow Ledbetter in 1992, for some reason i don’t want to hear it every single day (two or three times a day!) on the radio, now 16 years later.  What was once a fresh and raw compositional masterpiece has been trashed by mindless repetition for months on end.  The same can be said of all my favorites from early to mid 90s rock.  It was so exciting at the time, but 105.5 is turning them into Oldies, and i can’t take it.  Nirvana is to me what CCR was to my mom.

I really wish someone would adopt Reg’s 4 hour show into an entire station format, 24/7…
